How to Join a Workshop
Step-by-step guide for joining and participating in Pulse sessions
Quick Start
Have a session code? Visit /participant/join, enter your code, and you're ready to participate! No account required.
Get the Session Code
The facilitator will share a unique session code with you in XXX-XXX-XXX format. This code is your key to joining the workshop.

Example: Session codes look like SHE-K4F-M4U
— three groups of three alphanumeric characters separated by dashes.
Go to the Join Page
Open your web browser and navigate to the Pulse platform's participant join page.
Mobile Friendly: Pulse works on any device — desktop, tablet, or smartphone.
Enter the Session Code
Type the XXX-XXX-XXX code provided by your facilitator into the input field and click "Join".
- Codes are case-insensitive — dashes are added automatically as you type
- Sessions must be active (not ended or expired) to join
- If the code doesn't work, double-check with your facilitator
Fill Out the Join Form
After entering a valid code, you'll be asked to provide some basic information. The facilitator customizes what fields are required.
Name (Optional)
You can provide your name or remain anonymous. Anonymous responses are still captured but not linked to your identity.
Custom Fields
Facilitators may ask for additional info like department, role, or location. Fill out what's required to proceed.
Privacy: Only your name (if provided) and custom field responses are stored. No email, password, or tracking data is collected. See our Privacy Policy.
Engage with Activities
Once joined, you'll see activities as the facilitator makes them available. Participate in real-time!
Vote on single or multiple-choice questions.
- Click your choice(s) and submit your vote
- Results update in real-time for everyone
- Some polls allow multiple selections
Submit keywords or short phrases.
- Type your response (one word or short phrase)
- More popular words appear larger in the cloud
- Watch the cloud grow as others contribute
Place items on a 2x2 grid (e.g., Urgent/Important matrix).
- Drag and drop items into the appropriate quadrant
- Click or tap on mobile devices to position items
- See where others placed their items
Collaborate on root cause analysis.
- Answer "Why?" questions to dig deeper into issues
- Build on previous answers to reach root causes
- Contribute to collaborative problem-solving
Rate items on a numerical scale.
- Use sliders or stars to provide ratings
- Rate multiple items in one activity
- See average ratings from the group
Provide detailed written feedback or comments.
- Type detailed responses in text boxes
- Share thoughts, suggestions, or reflections
- Your feedback is visible to facilitators
Tips for a Great Experience
Stable Connection
Use a reliable internet connection. Pulse uses real-time updates, so a stable connection ensures you don't miss anything.
Modern Browser
Use an up-to-date browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge) for the best experience.
Respond Quickly
Facilitators may control activity timing. Submit your responses before time runs out or activities close.
Privacy Aware
Remember that facilitators can see responses. Use the anonymous option if you prefer not to share your name.
Stay on the Page
Don't close your browser tab. Activities update automatically — no refresh needed!
Pay Attention
Listen to your facilitator's instructions. They'll guide you through each activity and explain the goals.
Troubleshooting
"Invalid session code" error
• Double-check the code with your facilitator
• Ensure the session is active (not ended or expired)
• Try entering the code in uppercase or lowercase
Page not updating with new activities
• Check your internet connection
• Refresh the page (F5 or Cmd+R)
• Try a different browser if issues persist
Can't submit my response
• Make sure all required fields are filled out
• Check if the activity has been closed by the facilitator
• Try clearing your browser cache and rejoining
Disconnected from session
• Simply refresh the page to reconnect
• Your session is saved; you won't need to rejoin
• Contact the facilitator if you continue having issues
